SimCity-style city-building board game Suburbia will be getting a swish new collector’s edition in autumn 2019, Bézier Games has revealed. The US publisher is launching a Kickstarter campaign on Monday 14 January for the upcoming deluxe edition, which will feature fresh artwork, upgraded components and a brand new expansion, Nightlife.
Designed by Bézier Games founder Ted Alspach (Castles of Mad King Ludwig, One Night Ultimate Werewolf), Suburbia is a strategic tile-laying game that sees players vying to build the best city, placing hex-shaped building tiles that represent the different residential, commercial, civic and industrial areas of their burgeoning metropolis.
The newly-announced Suburbia Collector’s Edition revamps the 2012 title with the addition of larger tiles with new 3D artwork by Brett Stebbins, city-specific recessed borough boards and a large tile tower in the shape of a skyscraper. As well as including 2013 expansion Suburbia Inc. and 2015’s Suburbia 5★, the re-print will come with a new Nightlife expansion, featuring locations that are more active in the evening hours.
