Sony has announced the free games available for PlayStation Plus subscribers in the month of January, including Steep and Portal Knights.
Steep is an extreme Winter sports sim from Ubisoft. In it, you can ski, snowboard and parachute your way around the powered mountaintops getting sick air and pulling off gnarly tricks. All things we wouldn’t dare do in the real world.
Portal Knights, on the other hand, is a cute little co-op RPG. You can venture around procedurally-generated environments defeating monsters, taking down bosses and collecting loot. Seems fun!
Meanwhile, PS3 owners get a duo of thrilling mech action games in the Zone of the Enders HD Collection and music rhythm game Amplitude. Titles coming to PS Vita include action-RPG Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and explosive arcade shooter Super Mutant Alien Assault.
On first glance, it’s a bit of a disappointing selection compared to some of the more interesting games featured in last month’s collection. Nevertheless, you won’t see us complain too much about a free game or two with our PS Plus subscription.
