A fantasy card game by Pandemic and Race For The Galaxy designer Tom Lehmann has been announced as the debut title of new publisher Sand Castle Games.

Featuring gorgeous card art by French illustrator Julien Delval and slated for a February 2019 release, the quick-playing Res Arcana will see players takes on the role of mages from various school of magic, out to prove that their brand of arcane science is better than their rivals’ by claiming the prestigious title of ‘Arcane King’.

In Res Arcana, players will harvest and manipulate different types of magical essence in order to make mysterious artefacts, summon strange creatures from the void and invoke mighty dragons to defeat their opponents. However, each player will only be able to draft a total of eight artefact cards per game, forcing them to make difficult decisions about which items will aid them most in the race to reach the 10 victory points required to win.
