Terminator reboot, first look at cast

Tim Miller’s Terminator continuation has dropped its first official picture, and although we’ve seen glimpses of filming recently, it’s nice to be formally re-introduced to Linda Hamilton’s legendary Sarah Conner.

Not much is known about the new movie, but Gabriel Luna, who appeared as Ghost Rider in ABC’s superhero series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is thought to be the new cybernetic killing machine.

However, the Terminator Fans site claims to have “eyewitness” proof Mackenzie Davis is playing a machine in Terminator 6. According to the report, a fan witnessing the shoot in Cartagena, Spain spotted “a muscular blond woman, 1.80m tall, with an arm made up as if she had suffered a deep wound, letting on a metallic skeleton.”

Those marks across the torso of Davis would seem to confirm this, so one could deduce that she’s the “protector” machine. Hamilton and Davis are joined by Natalia Reyes, who appears to be playing a mechanic of some sorts judging by the “Arius Motors” shirt she’s wearing.

Interestingly, this first official picture features an all-female image and as the Hollywood Reporter says, “When it comes to Terminator, arguably more than any other science-fiction franchise, the future is female, and always has been.”

The Terminator was resurrected by Skydance’s David Ellison in association with James Cameron, who gets back a lot of the reversion rights to the original 1984 movie, next year.

Reyes, Luna, Hamilton and Davis are joined by Diego Boneta and Arnold Schwarzenegger, with David Goyer writing the script. Natalia Reyes (Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas) and Diego Boneta also have been set to star in the next film.

The as-yet untitled reboot is slated to be released on November 22, 2019.
