A trailer and episode preview has been released for the upcoming animated series Mega Man: Fully Charged. Produced by DHX Media, Dentsu Entertainment and Man of Action Entertainment, the 26-episode series will debut on Cartoon Network US on 5 August 2018.

The trailer was unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, along with the first episode, Throwing Shade. The series’ own YouTube channel also emerged, with the trailer and a preview of episode one, where we see Aki Light transforming into Mega Man to battle Fire Man.

Based on Capcom’s Mega Man franchise, the series deviates from the story of the games in that the focus is on Aki Light, a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot with nano-core technology that allows him to transform into his alter-ego, the mega-powered hero Mega Man. Battling villains in Silicon City, the series also features Mega Man’s robotic dog, Rush, as well as new characters such as Mega Mini and Suna Light.

As revealed by SyFy Wire, Aki Light is voiced by Vincent Tong.

The episode one preview is locked to the US, however, the following videos uploaded by Rockman Corner have no restrictions.

“We’re confident fans both old and new will love this new series, as they follow Mega Man’s fast-paced adventures, beginning this summer,” said Josh Scherba, President of DHX Media.

“Mega Man is exactly the kind of hero we need right now,” said Joe Kelly, Executive Producer/Story Editor at Man of Action Entertainment. “Optimistic, inquisitive and more focused on helping others and understanding adversaries than just locking them up. We love this character.”
