Aptly-named developer Spicy Tails has announced that it is making a virtual reality visual novel adaptation of Spice and Wolf, Isuna Hasekura and illustrator Jū Ayakura’s popular light novel series about travelling merchant Lawrence and wolf spirit Holo.

Spicy Tails – whose previous collaboration with Isuna Hasekura, VR murder mystery Project LUX, is currently available on Steam – says that Spice and Wolf VR will be released on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and other platforms in early 2019. The company confirmed on Twitter that the title will feature English subtitles and will also receive a non-VR ‘movie’ version for PC.

Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass, Persona 4), who voiced Holo in the 2008 Spice and Wolf anime and its sequel, is set to reprise her role as the cute wolf girl, while Jun Fukuyama (Code Geass, Assassination Classroom) returns as the canny, money-minded Kraft Lawrence.
