You can say it’s just a bunch of cardboard as many times as you want, but it’s not going to stop us from wanting this next Nintendo Labo kit any less. Announced yesterday, the Vehicle Kit brings cars, planes and even submarines to Nintendo’s barmy toy expansion for the Switch. See how it all works in the trailer below.

It actually looks really quite cool, with different setups used depending on which vehicle you’re controlling at the time.

The set also comes with a game world for you to explore with each vehicle. It appears there’s a more freeform mode that allows you to just travel around the environment, as well as a host of mini-games you can play either alone or in co-op.

The trailer gives us a look at races, golf, some Arms-inspired car combat, searching the ocean depths for sunken treasure and piloting through the sky shooting targets or navigating obstacle courses.

We also get a brief glimpse at the mode’s customisation options that will allow you to paint and decorate your vehicles.

The Nintendo Labo – Toy-Con 3: Vehicle Kit will be available on September 14 for Nintendo Switch. The Variety Kit and Robot Kit are also on sale now.
