LEGO has released the first finalised images of its impressive new Voltron model, a 2,321-piece super robot inspired by the much-loved ‘80s cartoon and its modern day successor Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Coming with an eye-watering £159.99 price tag, the awesome-looking new LEGO Voltron features five buildable and posable lions with specially designed extra-strong joints that combine to form the iconic super robot itself, standing over 15 inches tall and wielding a sword and shield.

Part of the LEGO Ideas range, which features products that have been suggested and voted for by fans, the Voltron set is slated to hit shelves on 1 August – although it will also be available in limited quantities at next month’s San Diego Comic-Con.
