We’ve been waiting for more info on this for what seems an age…and now finally, we have been deemed worthy of a trailer. It’s more of a teaser trailer…but still, we’re grateful for anything at this point.

It was evident at CinemaCon that this was no ordinary Predator movie and it appears like Shane Black has delivered. This is after all, the kind of movie he was born to direct…and he has a special relationship with the franchise, being the first person to be killed on screen by a Predator, in the epic, original movie.

The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey and Yvonne Strahovski and is written and directed by Shane Black.

In fact, late yesterday, a few members of the cast took to Twitter in some imaginative ways to promote the immenient teaser.

The film was originally conceived as a reboot of the Predator film franchise, until Shane Black came aboard and confirmed he would be making a sequel instead, as he wanted to continue to explore the Predator mythology.

The slogan in the teaser poster, “You’ll never see him coming,” is an obvious reference to the Predator’s cloak, but also a nod to Iron Man 3 (2013), which was written and directed by Shane Black, in which the character of The Mandarin notably uses the line, “You’ll never see me coming…”

The Predator is due to open in cinemas on 14th September.
