So you’re a Mega Man X fan, but you can’t really afford to pay the high prices for those original Super Nintendo and PlayStation games on eBay. Well, the release date for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection is not that far away.

Capcom announced back in December 2017 during Mega Man’s 30th anniversary live stream that they would be bringing all eight games from the Mega Man X series to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The first trailer for the Legacy Collection initially appeared on Capcom’s Japanese YouTube channel, revealing that it will be released in two sets (Legacy Collection 1 and Legacy Collection 2) in Japan on 26 July 2018. Now an official English trailer has appeared on the official Mega Man YouTube channel.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection will include the games Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, Mega Man X3 and Mega Man X4.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will include the games Mega Man X5, Mega Man X6, Mega Man X7 and Mega Man X8.

Fans in Europe and the USA can expect the Legacy Collection to arrive on 24 July 2018. It will be available digitally across Europe, while those in the USA can purchase it digitally or physically as a combo pack with a disc for each collection (Nintendo Switch users will get a cartridge for Legacy Collection 1 and a download code for Legacy Collection 2).

There are improved visuals for each game as well as a filter option, which means that you can choose to play the games with a smoother, cleaner look, or you can play them in their original state. You can also choose to play them in full screen or widescreen.

Additional features found in the Legacy Collection include a new Easy Mode for newcomers to the series and an X Challenge Mode that allows you to challenge two bosses from different Mega Man X games at the same time. You can post your best times on an online leaderboard.

Plus, there is a Mega Man X museum, which includes a gallery of illustrations and production art; trailers; collectible merchandise; a music player with a full soundtrack for each game (as well as a few new tracks created just for this release), and the OVA The Day of Σ, a short prologue film to Mega Man X that was originally included with the game Maverick Hunter X.
