New trailer for Insomniac’s Spider-Man swings in

Though we’ve seen three Peter Parkers on the big screen in the last fifteen years, the web-slinger has been absent from the world of video games for some time now. That’s all about to change when Insomniac releases their adaptation of Spider-Man in 2018.

In a new trailer unveiled at Paris Games Week, we’re introduced to a much more experienced Spidey. Thankfully, we won’t have to go through another origin story. Fisk is off the streets and maybe Peter Parker will be able to go back to chilling out as a teenager for a while – not so. Well, it wouldn’t make for an exciting game if he could, would it?

Instead, a new threat emerges, and the friendly neighbourhood superhero will have to go swinging through the streets of New York City biffing goons and saving citizens all over again with his lackadaisical charm.

In terms of how the game plays, Insomniac’s adaptation looks like an interesting spin on Rocksteady’s Arkham formula, with action-packed fisticuffs segueing into more stealth-oriented sections. Is that a section where you’ll be playing as MJ we see too?

Why not see if you can pick out any more famous faces from the history of Spider-Man dotted about in the trailer?
