Mistwalker has announced that Terra Battle 2 will be released for iOS and Android on September 21st in the US and Japan.

The mobile RPG sequel from Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy) combines the grand story the genre is known for with an extensive campaign featuring tactical combat and a vast party of characters to recruit.

The original was a fantastic little game that offered a surprising amount of depth for a seemingly simple concept. The sequel is set to build on that formula even further.

Players who download and log in to the game during the first two weeks of launch will be given bonus energy every day. As a free-to-play game, you need this resource to enter battles, although if it’s similar to the previous entry the requirement isn’t too strict. You’ll also be able to unlock a brand new character, Haruhikari, following the launch of the game.

For those in other regions or waiting for the PC version of Terra Battle 2, a release date is yet to be confirmed.
