Square Enix have announced that they are developing a remake of Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) via the release of a brief teaser.

The remake will feature 3D graphics and voice acting. There will also be a newly arranged score, under the supervision of the game’s original composer Hiroki Kikuta. In the teaser we see (and hear) the main character Randi as he pulls the Mana sword and rides the dragon Flammie.

The teaser also reveals that those who pre-order the game will receive a DLC bonus of a Moogle Suit costume and Tiger Suit costume for the characters Randi, Purim and Popoi.

Secret of Mana was originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1993 and is regarded as one of the best RPG’s ever. It was also notable for its three-play mode, which was groundbreaking at the time. It has since been ported to Nintendo’s Virtual Console as well as iOS and Android devices. It is also one of the games included in the SNES Classic Mini.

The Secret of Mana remake will be released worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC on 15 February 2018. The game is already up for pre-order at the PlayStation Store and the Square Enix Online Store.
