The first closed beta test for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will take place from August 26 – September 4, Square Enix has announced.

It hasn’t been revealed exactly what content will be available in the beta, but it’ll be the first chance to try out the 3v3 brawler on PS4 as famous heroes and villains from the Final Fantasy universe clash in iconic locations from the series. Confirmed characters to feature so far include Sephiroth (because, of course), Terra and Lightning.

If you’ve not signed up for the beta yet you have until August 15th to do so. Just head over to the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT sign up page and throw your details into the hat. You aren’t guaranteed access, but those chosen will receive an email with all the information needed to access the closed beta period.

Square Enix also took the opportunity to announce that Jecht will be joining the roster. The Final Fantasy X antagonist (sort of) and father to Tidus will be bringing his Blitzball skills to bouts. Wonder if we’ll see a whole new Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark IV in his move set? Unfortunately, he will not be playable in the beta.

Final Fantasy Dissidia NT is scheduled for release on PS4 in early 2018.
