AMATSUKI’s third single Mr.Fake / TSUNAGERU is out now digitally via JPU Records. The double A-side release features five new songs, three of which are tie-ins with film, theatre and charity work.

Opening track Mr.Fake is the theme song to live action adaptations of the psychological thriller manga Tomodachi Game, which was adapted into a TV series earlier this year, followed by a film in June.

Co-titular track TSUNAGERU is a J-pop ballad that is currently the theme song for mobile phone operator docomo’s Tohoku reconstruction effort. Entitled “The Bridge of Smiles Rainbow Project”, the movement supports those left without homes after the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.

Track MIRAI NO SEIMEI is used in the period theatre drama Yoshiteru Swordsman General, based on the 16th century shogun and sword master, which is currently running at EX THEATRE ROPPONGI in Tokyo.

The single was released in three formats in Japan, with two of the versions having different concluding tracks. One edition, features AMATSUKI on the cover fashioned around Tomodachi Game, and includes an acoustic arrangement of HEARTFUL EDGE. This can be downloaded at Amazon, Google Play and Microsoft Groove. The other version features a rainbow on the cover and includes YUME NO TSUZUKI, written and composed entirely by AMATSUKI. This can be downloaded at Amazon, or streamed via Spotify or Tidal.
