Get your build orders mastered and your uber-micro practised as Blizzard has confirmed an August 14th release date for the remake of its seminal RTS, StarCraft: Remastered.

The modern remaster of the first battle between the Terran, Protoss and Zerg comes with all expected updates and improvements for a modern title. There are graphical upgrades for both the base game and Brood War expansion, widescreen and 4k resolution support, cloud saves and higher quality audio.

If you’re a purist and think the original game is great enough without all that fancy new stuff you can even switch between the two with a single button press.

Pre-orders get a handful of bonus content too, including building skins for StarCraft: Remastered, Alexei Stukov as a co-op commander for StarCraft II and three profile portraits. It’s up now on the Blizzard store for £12.99.
