Fast And Furious Writer Drops Heavy Hints About Han’s Return

‘Han’s return’ is the click bait headline we didn’t go with because here at MCM Towers context is what we do. Likewise our colleagues at Slashfilm who’ve been chatting to series writer Chris Morgan. As the promotion machines fires up for the ‘Evil Dom! Maybe! Evil Charlize Theron! Definitely!’ action fest that is Fate Of The Furious, their attention turned to one of the series’ earliest breakout stars, Han Seoul-Oh.

Yes that’s his name. Or rather it was by the time he appeared in these movies…

They have a lot of really interesting background including how the Fast series is not the first time we meet Han and it’s well worth a look. However, the quote that really jumped out at us was this:

Are we ever going to loop back around in the timeline and see Han again?

Chris Morgan: “Now, that’s funny because I’ve actually been thinking about that a lot. So it’s interesting that you and I are on the same wavelength there. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out. I love Sung – he’s one of my favorite people on the planet.”

We’re big fans of Sung Kang too and we’d love to see him back in the franchise somehow. But how? Han isn’t just pretty definitely dead that death is the primary catalyst behind the events of two movies and counting. Flashbacks? A Scream style video message? We have some ideas but we bet Morgan has better ones. Roll on Furious 9. Probably on fire. And drifting.

The Fate Of The Furious is out 12 April and we cannot WAIT.
