Following the reveal of the teaser trailer back in November, the official website for the live action film of Fullmetal Alchemist has been updated with a new visual image (which will likely end up being the poster); our first look at Edward and Alphonse Elric surrounded by steam at a train station.
The site was also updated with a still from the film, with Edward squaring off against an iron beast (which is also glimpsed in the teaser).
The film adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga is directed by Fumihiko Sori (of Ping Pong and Vexille) and follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse. After a failed attempt using alchemy to resurrect their dead mother leaves Edward and Alphonse’s bodies severely damaged, they set off on a journey to find the Philosopher’s Stone so that they can restore themselves.
The film stars Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell and Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang.
Shot over the summer of 2016 in Italy and Japan, Fullmetal Alchemist is set to be released in Japan in December 2017. You can view the English version of the teaser below.
