Man Of Steel Easter eggs point to a Justice League member and beyond…

“There is a Batman and he is out there… somewhere,” says Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder. To prove it, he’s packed in lots of references about Superman’s partner in the Justice League, with the visual effects teams hiding a ton of Easter eggs for fans to find.

“It does say Wayne Enterprises on the satellite, but you can only see half of it,” explains Snyder, who also points to a ‘Keep Calm‘-style poster that is hidden in the final fight.

“When General Zod’s tearing the building apart with his heat vision, there’s a Be Calm And Call Batman sign on the wall there, just really small,” Snyder says. “You might have to stop the movie to see it but it’s definitely in there.”

Whether or not it’s the Wayne Enterprises fans know and love from the Chris Nolan movies just of the DC universe in general, is “yet to be seen”, Snyder adds.

Man Of Steel also contained plenty of LexCorp references, including trucks, flags and the LexCorp Tower, suggesting Lex Luthor will appear in a sequel.

There’s also a sign for Blaze Comics (the comic-book company within the DC universe), and another for the Utopia Casino (owned by supervillain Tony Gallo, the first man in the Superman comics to use Kryptonite against Superman).

Some of the Easter eggs were placed there by visual effects supervisor John ‘DJ’ Des Jardin, while others were put there by Double Negative Productions – the London-based effects company responsible for the Dark Knight movies.

Science and Technology Advanced Research – AKA S.T.A.R. Labs – is also given a name check, as scientist Dr Emil Hamilton (played by Richard Schiff) works for them. In the comics, they are responsible for the technology used to create the popular DC character Cyborg.

However, not all of the references are meant to suggest those things will appear Snyder says: “It’s all stuff that we talk about and we go, ‘Oh that’s fun, we should do that.’”
