Emmy Raver-Lampman, one of the stars of hit superhero series The Umbrella Academy, will be joining fellow cast member Tom Hopper as a guest of MCM Birmingham Comic Con later this month. Previously best known for roles in musicals such as Hamilton and Wicked, Raver-Lampman plays Allison Hargreeves in the new Netflix show, which adapts the comic book series by former My Chemical Romance front man Gerard Way.

The Umbrella Academy sees the gifted but dysfunctional Hargreeves siblings, who were raised as crime-fighting superheroes by their eccentric dad, reunite as adults to prevent the apocalypse. Also known as ‘Number Three’ and ‘The Rumor’, Emmy Raver-Lampman’s character can manipulate reality and control people through the lies she tells.

Already announced as an MCM guest before The Umbrella Academy’s debut, Tom Hopper (Black Sails, Game of Thrones, Merlin) plays Luther Hargreeves, the first child to be adopted into the Umbrella Academy. In the years since he’s been to the moon and acquired an ape-like upper body – but Luther still hasn’t got over his crush on Allison!

As well as meeting fans and signing autographs, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tom Hopper will be taking to MCM Birmingham’s stage for a special Umbrella Academy panel. MCM Birmingham Comic Con comes to the NEC on 23-24 March 2019. Tickets to the show are available here.
