PlayStation Plus March games include Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness

Sony has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness will be the pair of games offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers for March 2019. That’s quite a contrasting pair if you ask us!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is – obviously – a spruced up version of Infinity Ward’s hugely influential first-person shooter from back in 2007. This updated version has all the graphical improvements you would expect, plus a host of other tweaks and changes that modernise the shooter without changing the core gameplay.

On the other hand, The Witness is a quiet and pensive puzzle game from the mind of Jonathan Blow – the creator of quiet and pensive puzzle game Braid. The follow up is a truly fascinating game that seems hugely minimalist and limited at face value as it’s just a series of line puzzles, but the way the game teaches you its rules and develops over time is ingenious.

All in all, that’s two rather excellent games offered up as freebies for PS Plus subscribers. Usually, we’d go on to discuss the PS3 and PS Vita games also included as part of the subscription but they will no longer be a part of the service going forward. It’s sad to lose them, but just part of moving forward with the times!

If you haven’t added last month’s games to your library yet, you have until March 4 to grab assassination sandbox Hitman and brutal strategic fighter For Honor.
