Dragon Ball Super: Broly has broken the £1 million mark at the UK box office, distributor Manga Entertainment today announced. With official cumulative earnings now sitting at £1,004,853, Broly is now the UK’s second highest grossing anime film of all time, with only Studio Ghibli blockbuster Spirited Away proving a bigger hit in British cinemas.

Initially opening as a limited two-day theatrical release on 23 January, Dragon Ball Super: Broly is still showing in select cinemas across the UK. The Tatsuya Nagamine-helmed film, which has taken more than $100M worldwide, is also coming to DVD, Blu-ray and limited edition SteelBook on 27 May – pre-orders are available here.

“What an incredible milestone for us and the franchise to hit,” said Manga Entertainment marketing manager Andrew Hewson. “Huge thanks again to the team here at Manga but also you, the fans, who went out and watched it over and over again. Your love and support puts Broly in the history books as the UK’s second biggest anime film of all time!”
