Red Hook Games has announced Darkest Dungeon 2 – a follow up to their brutally difficult RPG roguelike.

The developers released a short teaser trailer for the game earlier this week, while also revealing a few extra details in an interview with PC Gamer.

In that, they reveal that much will stay the same in the sequel, although they will be “tuning-up” the game’s combat system and reworking the larger metagame of the Estate elements where you rest or improve your party.

Aside from that, the details are fairly thin at this stage. Going by the trailer it appears the six character types from the first game will be making a return. Red Hook has also not ruled out using the Steam Early Access model for the sequel, so there’s a chance you may be able to get your hands on the game earlier – albeit in an unfinished state.

However, no release date information for Darkest Dungeon 2 was announced with the reveal.
