Mesmerising narrative adventure game What Remains of Edith Finch will be available for free on the Epic Games Store from January 10 for a short time.

Released back in 2017, What Remains of Edith Finch sends you on a journey through the old family home of the titular character as she learns more about the lives of various family members across generations.

The game is extremely clever and inventive with its storytelling as each vignette switches between genre or style to suit the family member it represents while moving between melancholic and uplifting stories of family life.

What Remains of Edith Finch deservedly received critical acclaim for its achievements and even picked up the BAFTA Best Game award for that year. Back in April, we spoke to two of the game’s developers – Ian Dallas and Joshua Safarty – about their success at the awards and the reception to the game.
