Ex-Hearthstone developers including Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu are working on a new game for Marvel at their new studio, Second Dinner.

The pair announced the news of a collaboration with Marvel along with the rest of the current development team in a recent video update. According to Eurogamer, Second Dinner has secured $30 million in funding through the Chinese company NetEase as part of the deal.

Ben Brode left Blizzard and Hearthstone behind in April 2018 – and many others from his team there followed shortly after to join him too.

Although much of the team has a lot of history in card games, it’s unclear yet whether their first project will also be in this genre. You would think so, considering how much Hearthstone talent is on the team, but this new start could be a chance for them to explore something new instead.

What we do know, however, is that going by job listings for Second Dinner it seems the project will be a mobile game.

We expect we’ll be hearing more soon and will definitely be following this one very closely.
