It was reported last month that Constantin Film would be rebooting the Resident Evil films with director Johannes Roberts at the helm. Now Deadline have reported that you can expect even more of the undead, as a live-action TV series is also in development.

News of Constantin Film adapting the Resident Evil video games into a TV series emerged back in 2014, but according to Deadline’s latest report they are developing the show as an original series over at Netflix. There is no word on the cast or crew, but it is believed that the series will expand on the Resident Evil universe and deepen the existing mythology of Capcom’s video games. Episodes will focus on the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.

Constantin Film and Sony Screen Gems produced the six Resident Evil movies alongside writer, director and producer Paul W. S. Anderson, and with lead actress Milla Jovovich. They became one of the most successful video game to movie translations, spawning a franchise that earned over $1.2 billion worldwide. With Constantin Film heading the production of the TV series, it means that there is also the possibility it will overlap with the former (and potential future) films.
