The Resident Evil 2 remake is just days away (you can check out our review here) and during a live-stream launch for the game in Japan, Capcom revealed new DLC content. As reported on Siliconera, they include new costumes and a game mode where you can play a side-story with three minor characters seen in the game.

The new costumes are actually the old 1998 costumes that Leon and Claire wear in the original game, as the two characters appear as their blocky polygonal versions. They will be available to download from 22 March.

A new game mode titled The Ghost Survivors will be released where players can explore a side-story on three characters had they not met their demise in Raccoon City. They include Katherine Warren (the daughter of Raccoon City’s mayor), Robert Kendo (the Kendo gun shop owner), and a mysterious U.S.S. Member. There is currently no date on when The Ghost Survivors will be available, but it is believed that it will be released episodically.

Best of all, the costumes and The Ghost Survivors will be free.

During the live-stream, the reveal of the original costumes (and a playthrough of Leon at the police station in his original costume) is at 57:40. The Ghost Survivors is revealed at 1:21:10.
