Psychic shenanigans are on the cards this week as Manga Entertainment gives a DVD/Blu-ray combo release to Mob Psycho 100: Season One. Hitting home video ahead of Season 2’s January premiere, the 12-episode opening instalment of Studio Bones action comedy stars 14-year-old Shigeo ‘Mob’ Kageyama – a socially awkward kid who just happens to possess powerful esper abilities that are fuelled by his emotions. Mob just wants to live a normal life and impress his crush Tsubomi; cultists, thugs, evil spirits and a sinister organisation bent on world domination have different ideas.

Also out from Manga UK today is a DVD/Blu-ray combo for Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days’ Time, a Seiji Kishi-helmed compilation film recapping Lerche’s sci-fi comedy about a class of kids trying to bump off their teacher Koro-sensei – a betentacled yellow monster who’s threatening to destroy the earth. Manga’s third release of the week is the DVD-only One Piece: Collection 20, featuring episodes 469-492 of Luffy and the Straw Hats’ piratical adventures.

Meanwhile, Anime Limited brings us the Snow White with the Red Hair: Season 1 & 2 Blu-ray Collection, gathering together both 12-episode seasons of Studio Bones’ charming fantasy romance. Currently exclusive to AllTheAnime.com, the limited edition box set tells the story of flame-haired herbalist Shirayuki, who escapes the unwelcome advances of her jerkass ruler by fleeing to a neighbouring kingdom …where she promptly runs into yet another prince who’s instantly smitten by her. Fortunately, this one’s a much nicer sort!

Finally for this week, MVM Entertainment continues its release of Studio Deen supernatural murder mystery series Higurashi: When They Cry with third season collection Higurashi: When They Cry – Rei. Having finally escaped the brutal cycle of madness and murder plaguing their hometown of Hinamizawa, Keiichi, Rika and friends are looking forward to simply being teenagers and living a normal life. Good luck with that, guys.
