Not long to go now people! In fact, sci-fi fans have lots to look forward to this New Year, season two of The Orville begins on 30th December in the US and January 7th in the UK, plus season two of Star Trek: Discovery arrives on CBS All Access on January 17th in the US and the 18th in the UK.

Before then, we have one more Star Trek: Short Treks episode – and the one I’ve personally been looking forward to the most…the return of Harry Mudd!

Rainn Wilson, who is just delicious as Mudd also directs this episode.

“Wanted…for 30 counts of smuggling. Twenty counts of homicide. Transportation of stolen goods…and you slept with my sister.”

Each short runs approximately 10-15 minutes and has been an opportunity for fans to dive deeper into key themes and characters that fit into Discovery and the expanding Star Trek universe – including Saru (Doug Jones), plus Aldis Hodge’s new character, Craft and Tilly (Mary Wiseman).

Sadly however, for the time being at least, these are only going to be available in the US, as Netflix won’t be showing them in the UK and nor will the Space Channel in Canada. Consequently, you’ll need a VPN to watch this trailer in the UK.

The first season of Star Trek: Discovery is available to stream in its entirety on CBS All Access in the US and Netflix in the UK. Season one is available on Blu-ray and DVD. The second season of Star Trek: Discovery will comprise of 13 episodes with no mid-season break. It will premiere on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the US and Canada, and in the rest of the world on Friday, January 18, 2019.
