Square Enix has confirmed that Life is Strange 2 – Episode 2: Rules will be released on January 24.

A new live-action trailer has been debuted alongside the announcement that shows a pivotal moment from the story of the brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz so far. Beware of potential spoilers ahead!

As for the synopsis of Episode 2: Rules, events follow on immediately after the conclusion of the opening chapter as Sean and Daniel continue their journey towards Mexico after a dramatic incident forced them to flee their home. As the Winter months roll in and with Daniel getting increasingly ill, though, Sean decides their best option is to make their way to their grandparent’s house in search of shelter.

Excitingly, for anyone who has played The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, Sean and Daniel will run into that prologue’s protagonist Chris Eriksen. It seems Daniel and Chris share a similar supernatural power – but he will have to decide whether it’s best to keep his power hidden as Sean has instructed him or open up to the young boy.

Naturally, that means all the choices and actions you’ve taken as Sean in the first episode may influence some of the decisions Daniel makes in this dilemma. Good luck with how that turns out!
