Square Enix has released the opening movie to Kingdom Hearts 3, which also gives us our first chance to hear the title theme ‘Face My Fears’ from series regular Hikaru Utada and EDM-fiend Skrillex. See what you think below.

Compared to Skrillex’s previous aural assaults, this feels a lot more reserved and melodic. Does all his wub-wub influence fit the Kingdom Hearts theme, though? That’s one for you to decide.

The DJ and producer has said he’s been a fan of the series for a long time. He originally met with Hikaru Utada to remix another song named Don’t Think Twice, but the pair decided to craft a new track together for the game.

Thankfully, it’s not very long until we get to finally play Kingdom Hearts 3 after years and years of waiting. It had reached a point where the Square Enix and Disney RPG mash-up seemed like it would never be released, but those fears can, at last, be put to rest for good.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled for release on PS4 and Xbox on January 25, 2019.
