Netflix Japan announced on Twitter that a new Ghost in the Shell series will premiere on the streaming platform. The tweet also came with a new illustrated image (pictured) of Major Motoko Kusanagi.

Titled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, the Netflix original anime will be a full 3D CG animated series. It will be directed by Shinji Aramaki (of Appleseed) and Kenji Kamiyama (of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Eden of the East). Both Aramaki and Kamiyama are also directing Netflix’s upcoming Ultraman series for 2019.

It wouldn’t be Ghost in the Shell without the involvement of Production I.G, as they’ll be working alongside animation studio Sola Digital Arts.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will arrive on Netflix in 2020.
