It appears we’re going to hear news of a Crash Team Racing remaster later this week if a series of strong online teases are to be believed.

It all started over on the Crash Bandicoot Facebook page yesterday when it updated its cover photo to a chequered flag. This was then followed up by a Tweet from PlayStation Access host Hollie Bennett containing a picture of two fluffy orange die. That’s very Crash Bandicoot in style and the kind of silly ornament you’d dangle from the rearview mirror of a car.
Seems pretty clear cut to us.
The date on the card above the die also most likely refers to the upcoming Game Awards on December 6th. We already know that more than 10 new titles are going to be announced at the show on Thursday, so we can only assume a Crash Team Racing remaster is going to be one of them. Will the orange furball be joined by the folks from Bioware to reveal something new for Dragon Age? We’ll have to tune in later this week to find out.
Released back in 1999 on the PS1, Crash Team Racing was a kart racer that obviously drew from the efforts of Nintendo in the genre. It was more than just a quick rip off, though, becoming a surprisingly brilliant game in its own right that many PlayStation owners will have fond memories of from their youth. Considering the success of last year’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, it seems that Activision is taking advantage of all that nostalgia while they can!
