After touring in USA, South Korea, France, China and Japan, Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N has arrived in London.

Located outside the ExCel Exhibition Centre, Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N (Science Training & Tactical Operative Network) gives Marvel fans the opportunity to interact with props and costumes used throughout Marvel’s decade-long cinematic universe.

Each area of the experience focuses on a unique Avenger and contains interactive sections, allowing the audience to step into the shoes of their favourite superheroes.

A Hulkbuster simulator is located within the Iron Man’s engineering bay, allowing the audience to take on Ultron’s robot army just as Tony Stark did in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. Opportunities to explore Bruce Banner’s lab, hold Captain America’s shield and (attempt to) lift Thor’s hammer are also part of the interactive experience. Props from ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ making their debut at the London event.

Exploring the S.T.A.T.I.O.N takes around an hour and culminates in a final showdown with one of the Avenger’s past foes.

While I enjoyed the event overall, Spider-Man appears to have been omitted from the event entirely. I’m not sure if this was due to the availability of the props or contractual restrictions between Marvel and Sony.

While references to ‘Avengers Infinity War’ were made, it was a shame that Marvel decided not to showcase the Infinity Gauntlet or Infinity Stones as it would have been a fitting celebration to a decade of Marvel’s hard work.

Praise is due however for the interactive elements in each area, these provide great photo opportunities and make the audience feel immersed in a world of superheroes. Having the ability to see the props from these films up close gives the audience a greater personal connection to the films. Many people, myself included, looked in awe and admiration at the sense of scale which certain props within the S.T.A.T.I.O.N during our time at the event.

Cosplayers will admire the level of detail within these props, especially if they are building their own Marvel outfits, this would be an excellent chance to take reference photos.

Overall, Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N is a great event for fans new to the MCU and those who have followed the adventure ever since Iron Man suited up for the first time in 2008. This event appeals to all ages and you can’t help but feel immersed from the moment you enter the S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

The experience has provided a super-powered dose of science and technology by NASA to enhance the authenticity of the experience and pique visitors’ interest in real-world science and technology. With comprehensive educational materials available for teachers, plus supporting materials created by Quantum Victoria, it is a thrilling learning experience for high school kids to follow STEM pathways by amplifying the scientific themes and characters that are core to Marvel’s storytelling.

Tickets on sale right now, from here.

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N is at ExCel London until 31st March.
