Atlus releases Persona 5 R teaser trailer

After registering a handful of Persona 5 related web domains earlier this month, Atlus has now released a teaser trailer for Persona 5 R.

Sadly, the 30-second trailer doesn’t reveal anything about what the project actually is at all. Instead, we are given a few shots of Shibuya from Persona 5 while Joker narrates over the footage.

According to YouTube user Gekkoi!, Joker is saying the following: “I hope you are well, this is Joker. As the year ends the voices speaking out awaiting our next move grow louder. However, we are closing the curtain for this year. March 2019. We look forward to seeing you again ladies and gentleman. Until then, you’ll just have to wait. Happy new year.”

The date of March 2019 is plastered across the trailer too, along with the phrase ‘New Projects’ appearing on a number of billboards. It seems to confirm that new Persona 5 related releases are coming soon, then, but exactly what they are still remains a mystery.

This could be a long-awaited Switch port of the cult favourite JRPG, though it could also be an updated re-release of Persona 5 on the same level as Persona 4 Golden. Or, it could be something else entirely. Hooray for vague teasers of upcoming announcements!
