Rilakkuma and Kaoru Netflix series gets a new trailer and poster

As reported on Natalie, during Netflix’s Anime Lineup Presentation, a new trailer and poster was unveiled for their upcoming Rilakkuma and Kaoru series, as well as the release date. It was also revealed that actress Mikako Tabe will voice Kaoru.

The stop frame-animated series has Rilakkuma spending its days lounging around an apartment that belongs to a young woman named Kaoru. Also living with Kaoru is her pet bird Kiiroitori and a small white bear cub named Korilakkuma, who just happened to show up out of the blue. According to Netflix’s synopsis, they “spend 12 colourful months together.”

The new trailer has Kaoru cooking for Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori, with the four of them enjoying the food.

From animation studio Dwarf, the series will comprise of 13 episodes, each around 10 minutes in length. Directed by Masahito Kobayashi, the series is written by Naoko Ogigami, with Rilakkuma’s creator, Aki Kondo, also on board as a story developer.

Rilakkuma and Kaoru arrives on Netflix on 19 April 2019.
