It was back in February that Kotobukiya and Hasbro announced their collaboration to release a new line of bishoujo figures of the original six ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Pinkie Pie was the first to be reimagined as a moe anime girl, with Kotobukiya revealing an image of the sculpt back in July.
Now Kotobukiya has announced that their bishoujo figure of Pinkie Pie is the first one up for pre-order.
Designed by artist Shunya Yamashita the figure is based on Pinkie Pie’s appearance in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (where the Mane Six were anthropomorphised as humans) and is described by Kotobukiya as being “packed with details that embody Japan’s unique ‘KAWAII’ street fashion.”
She is wearing a t-shirt decorated with a cake on it and a frilly skirt that gives the statue a sense of volume and lightness. The skirt also has her cutie mark – a trio of balloons.
The Pinkie Pie bishoujo figure is available to pre-order from now until 29 December 2018. You can pre-order from KotoEU for €84.95 or KotoUS for $99.99, with shipping expected in late May 2019.
Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy are expected to follow in in the second half of 2019.
