We’ve finally made it. It’s actually happening. And there’s no going back now. Game director Tetsuya Nomura took to Twitter today to announce that development has wrapped on Kingdom Hearts 3 and debut a new trailer.
Nomura wrote on Twitter: “I’m proud to unveil an extended version of the trailer that’s been playing in NA cinemas. And guess what? We’ve wrapped up development of #KingdomHearts III! If you haven’t had the chance yet, now would be a good time to prep by playing 1.5+2.5 & 2.8. See you next month!”
Naturally, the internet’s response to this news has been beyond ecstatic. There’s been such a long wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 that many had never expected it to see release. Those worries will soon be put to rest for good.
The latest trailer gives a whistle-stop tour of some of the Disney-inspired worlds you’ll be visiting on the latest adventure, including Tangled, Frozen and Toy Story. There’s also a closing stinger that hits at the game’s somewhat complicated wider story.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled for release on PS4 and Xbox One on January 29.
