Netflix has given us our first look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of The Witcher novels.

Sporting the monster slayer’s iconic ashen hair and golden cat-like eyes, the Superman actor doesn’t look half bad in the role, to be honest. He’s certainly got the potion chugging action down accurately!

Comments online have been…mixed…to say the least, though. Some pining for the fine beard Geralt often rocks in the game series, while others say he looks like a combination of Legolas from Lord of the Rings and Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. Eek!

As for the rest of the cast, we now know that Ciri will be played by Freya Allen and Yennefer will be played by Anya Chalotra. Netflix also announced that it has cast Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, another sorceress and potential love interest of Geralt’s.

Netflix’s The Witcher series is expected to debut in 2019.
