In honor of Veterans Day, Homes For Our Troops – a US nonprofit organization that helps build accessible homes for injured veterans – is running a celebrity-powered eBay fundraiser. You can bid on stuff like George Clooney’s fancy motorcycle and memorabilia like that, but the real top prize involves the most monumental musical act eve to come out of San Dimas…
In an exchange that appears to have unfolded over Twitter in real time, Ed Solomon (co-writer of the two existing Bill & Ted cult-classic movies, as well as the forthcoming Bill & Ted Face the Music) has offered up a righteous opportunity for a good cause.
Hey @jaketapper – is it too late for us to add something in for this great cause? We can offer a walk-on part in Bill and Ted Face the Music. Pls let me know. https://t.co/pJBi6X0WY4

The bidding is now live and the full prize includes the aforementioned non-speaking walk-on role, a set tour and dinner with Solomon (who’s also worked on Men in Black and Now You See Me) and a chance to “meet the cast”.
There’s no proof of course, beyond this generous gesture, that the previously troubled Bill & Ted Face The Music is, indeed, still happening, but we’ll take it as a positive sign.
The fine print on the auction listing notes that “production is slated for spring” with a TBD start date. (Hotel and airfare are not included.)
At the time of writing, there’s been 49 bids and the amount is up to $5,600.
+++UPDATE+++ The auction has now ended, it started at $11.11 and finished, 71 bids later, at $15,600, with ebay user b***p (145) winning the chance to appear in the new movie.
