Anime movie My Hero Academia: Two Heroes is to get a UK and Ireland theatrical release in December, Manga Entertainment and Funimation Films have announced.

The first feature-length outing for the hit superhero school-set anime series, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes will screen in select cinemas with subtitles on 4 December and with an English dub on 5 December. While tickets are not yet for sale, you can sign up for an e-mail alert at myheroacademiamovie.co.uk.

Set between the second and third seasons of the anime series, the studio Bones movie opens with Deku and All Might receiving an invitation to I-Expo, the world’s leading exhibition of Quirk abilities and hero item innovations. At the show Deku meets Melissa, a girl who is Quirkless just like he once was. Suddenly, I-Expo’s top-of-the-line security system gets hacked by villains and a sinister plan is set in motion…

Released in Japanese theatres back in August, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes is directed by Kenji Nagasaki (Gundam Build Fighters, Classroom Crisis), who helmed all three series of the TV anime, while the movie is penned by the show’s regular scriptwriter Yōsuke Kuroda (Trigun, Honey and Clover).
