XSEED has announced that Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 1 + 2 will be making their way to PS4 in the west from early 2019 as a pair of very special editions.

The two cult JRPG favourites from Nihon Falcom follow the story of Rean Schwarzer and a group of students at the Thors Military Academy as they are caught up in the conflict within the Empire. Fans of Persona would be wise to give the games a look, as they balance the social elements of school life with an in-depth turn-based battle system.

As the images show, the original Trails of Cold Steel will come bundled with a 50 Mira replica Collector’s Coin, 21-track soundtrack CD and SteelBook case. Meanwhile, the special edition of Trails of Cold Steel 2 will include an Ouroboros Emblem Pin, 23-track soundtrack CD and its very own SteelBook case.

Both games will also come with new features and all the additional content from the recently released PC versions. You’ll have the option to choose between Japanese and English voiceovers for the first time in series history, the latter of which includes over 5000 extra lines recorded for the PC edition.

At the time of writing both games are only confirmed for a release in North America, though hopefully, they will make the trip to Europe too!

Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 1 + 2 are available now for PS3, PS Vita and PC. The PS4 versions will be released in early 2019.
