Games Workshop’s Orktober revs up with speedster reveal

While Orktober perversely (and excellently) got underway with a new Slaanesh sculpt, Games Workshop’s month of greenskin appreciation kicked into high gear yesterday with the reveal of a brand new Ork vehicle – the Megatrakk Scrapjet.

Unveiled in a video from the ever-inventive Warhammer Community team, the Megatrakk Scrapjet is a jet-propelled, drill-tipped plane-without-wings that leans heavily into the orkish love of extreme speed. The bonkers new vehicle is the latest Mad Max-esque motor to be previewed by Games Workshop, joining the previously-announced Deffkilla Wartrike, Boomdakka Snazzwagon, Shokkjump Dragsta and Kustom Boosta-Blasta.

Both the Dragsta and Boosta-Blasta will be among the vehicles included in upcoming boxed set Speed Freeks, a racing game that harkens back to classic ‘90s title Gorkamorka. However, the release that many Ork aficionados with be most eager to get their hands on is the new Ork Codex, which will feature the datasheets allowing players to bring these badass new vehicle kits to the Warhammer 40K battlefield.

Our first glimpse of the Megatrakk Scrapjet has got Orktober off to a blistering start, and we’re braced for a Waaagh!’s worth of ork-centric announcements over the coming weeks. While you’re in the mood, GW, how about a shiny new box of Ork Boyz to go with all the crazy jalopies?
