Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be getting a UK and Ireland theatrical release in January, Manga Entertainment has announced. The 20th feature-length instalment in the iconic Dragon Ball franchise, Broly heads west following a Japanese premiere on 14 December.

Directed by former Dragon Ball Super helmer Tatsuya Nagamine (One Piece Film Z, Saint Seiya Omega), Broly is set after the current TV series’ ‘Universe Survival Saga’ story arc, and features a script and character design by none other than original Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. Distributor Manga Entertainment’s blurb for the movie runs as follows:

‘A legacy lies in wait, a deadly power is awakening – the legendary Super Saiyan Broly is here! Goku and his friends will face their deadliest challenge yet when they experience the power and might of Broly. Will they have enough strength to protect their home or will it take everything and everyone they have to stand against this unshakeable force? Experience the new power level in the latest movie from the Dragon Ball Super story!’
