A new trailer has been released today for upcoming studio Gonzo series Conception, which will be simulcast subtitled on Crunchyroll and English dubbed on Funimation from next week.

Premiering on Japanese TV on Tuesday 9 October, Conception is adapted from a Spike Chunsoft dating-sim/dungeon crawler that sees high schooler Itsuki and his cousin Mahiru transported to Granvania, a fantasy world under attack by monsters. Turns out Itsuki is literally God’s Gift, capable of saving the world by merging his magical energy with that of 12 zodiac-themed Star Maidens in order to create monster-battling Star Children.

Helmed by Keitaro Motonaga, director of Jormungand, Date A Live and the Digimon Adventure tri. movies, Conception stars Kuroko’s Basketball’s Yūki Ono as protagonist Itsuki and Lucky Star’s Emiri Katō as Mahiru, who is revealed to be the Maiden of Virgo. The other Star Maidens that our hero will need to charm are voiced by Aya Endō, Saki Fujita, Asami Shimoda, Yukiyo Fujii, Makiko Ohmoto, Yuriko Yamaguchi, Kazusa Aranami, Riho Sugiyama, Sanae Kobayashi, Eri Kitamura and Kana Asumi, doing double duty as the Gemini twins.
