Square Enix has announced The Last Remnant Remastered – a spruced up version of their Xbox 360 and PC JRPG from the late ’00s.

The Last Remnant, which follows the brilliantly-named Rush Sykes as he searches for his sister during a war, was the first game released by Square Enix to use the Unreal Engine. Naturally, then, performance was choppy all-around and the game itself was a bit of a convoluted mess. It still managed to find a small dedicated following, though, especially in Japan.

Cheekily, Square Enix recently delisted The Last Remnant from the Steam store on PC, making it unavailable for purchase. Seems their intentions behind that move have been made very clear with this announcement, though a PC release hasn’t actually been confirmed yet.

What we do know is that this remastered version promises even higher definition graphics thanks to the use of the newer Unreal Engine 4. It’ll be released digitally on PS4 for £15.99 on December 6.
