That dream where you’re dancing with Ulala on Space Channel 5 will soon be a reality. According to Gematsu, Space Channel 5 VR will be released for PlayStation VR, after it appeared on the list of titles appearing at the Tokyo Game Show this year.

Following a demo of Space Channel 5 in virtual reality, which appeared at the Tokyo Game Show back in 2016, news of the title making an official comeback was announced back in February this year, when developers G-rounding Inc. revealed their plans to release Space Channel 5 VR Arakata Dancing Show at VR arcade stores in Japan. Months later, Sega revealed the news that it would be released in the west under the title Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash.

Initially developed for HTC’s Vive headset, players take on the role of a new reporter at a future universe television station. After deciding on life-saving dance poses with senior reporter Ulala, you eventually get to dance with her as you save the world from invading aliens.

The original rhythm-based game was released on the Sega Dreamcast back in 1999 and had players controlling Ulala, Space Channel 5’s news reporter who is tasked to report on an alien invasion. Reporting turns to rescuing as Ulala has to use her dance moves and Chu Beam in dance-offs to save hostages.

Space Channel 5 VR is set to be released for PlayStation VR in 2019.
