A new promo video released today has given us our first glimpse of fantasy anime Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur ahead of its October launch. Made by J.C.Staff, the series adapts a Square Enix mobile MMORPG loosely based on Arthurian legend.

Helmed by Youhei Suzuki, who recently directed DanMachi spin-off series Sword Oratoria, Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur will debut with two specials on 11 and 18 October, followed by the full series premiere on 25 October. A second season has already been confirmed and is slated to air on Japanese TV from April 2019.

The series centres on six heroes who have succeeded in drawing the holy sword Excalibur from its stone, thereby earning the name ‘Arthur’ – well, we did say it’s only loosely based on the legends! Sora Amamiya is the voice of Danchō Arthur, Ayana Taketatsu is Yamaneko Arthur, Inori Minase is Renkin Arthur, Natsuki Hanae is Kakka Arthur, Yūichi Nakamura is Rurō Arthur and Tetsuya Kakihara, voice of Fairy Tail’s Natsu, plays Tekken Arthur.

As well as introducing the show’s main cast, the trailer features Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur’s opening theme by voice actor and singer Ayaka Ohashi, who yesterday also posted a live action video previewing her song.
