Cary Joji Fukunaga has been named the director of the highly anticipated next 007 film, replacing Danny Boyle, who left the project last month.

Producers for the movie starring Daniel Craig announced the addition of Fukunaga on Thursday morning and also revealed the film is now slated to hit theatres on 14th February, 2020, a whole year later than the original date of November 8, 2019,

“We are delighted to be working with Cary,” Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement. “His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure.”

Fukunaga has had success directing both film and television projects. He earned the Emmy for outstanding directing in 2014 for his work on the first season of the HBO series “True Detective,” while his films include the 2011 drama Jane Eyre and the 2015 war drama “Beasts of No Nation.”

Filming for the upcoming Bond movie, which does not have a title, is set to start off on 4th March, according to Thursday’s announcement.

Bond 25 will serve as Daniel Craig’s fifth turn as the MI6 superspy after considerable speculation that he would not return following his fourth – disappointing – installment to the franchise, 2015’s “Spectre”.
