Upcoming anime Goblin Slayer will be simulcast on Crunchyroll in October, the streaming service has announced. Adapted from a light novel series by Kumo Kagyu and Noboru Kannatsuki, the dark fantasy series will be available to Crunchyroll members here in the UK and Ireland, as well as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia, Latin America and the Netherlands.

Produced by animation studio White Fox and directed by Takaharu Ozaki (Persona 5: The Animation – The Day Breakers, Girls’ Last Tour), Goblin Slayer opens with a young priestess (voiced by Yui Ogura) and her rookie adventuring party beset by a goblin ambush, only to be rescued by the titular Goblin Slayer (Yuichiro Umehara) – a hardened warrior dedicated to hunting down and exterminating every last gobbo.

Paying homage to fantasy RPG class systems, Goblin Slayer’s cast are identified by their profession rather than personal name, with Goblin Slayer and Priestess being joined on their adventures by the agile High Elf Archer (Nao Tōyama), food-loving Dwarf Shaman (Yūichi Nakamura), easy-going Lizard Priest (Tomokazu Sugita) and Goblin Slayer’s busty childhood best friend, the farmhand Cow Girl (Yuka Iguchi). Meanwhile, Guild Girl (Maaya Uchida) runs the local Adventurers’ Guild’s front office and assigns quest contracts.
